Can I use LIVE-to-VOD for linear streams?

An on-demand video file has a beginning and an end. To be able to record and save a video file, the live stream needs to have a beginning and an ending, therefor linear streams cannot be saved as a video file because they have no start and no ending.  LIVE-to-VOD therefore only works with LIVE Channels used for live events.
