Can I use the Pay-Per-View system in the Media Cloud to sell on-demand videos?
Yes, you can. It works best for selling an entire series. If you intend to sell more than one video with one transaction, such as a series, you can use the Pay-Per-View (PPV) Monetization Feature in the Media Cloud to set a price tag to one, or more, VOD Channels. Once you paid the PPV setup fee, you will receive a PPV Web App (or have your existing Web App modified), so that your viewers can register and buy access to one or multiple VOD Channels. All videos you have assigned to a VOD Channel will be available to them throughout the entire PPV ticket validity time once they paid to access it. You can assign one, or multiple videos, such as an entire series, to a VOD Channel and sell pay-per-view access to it (not a recurring subscription fee, but a one-time fee).
If you use apps from our App Framework, you can optionally have each of the apps reprogrammed and resubmitted to the app stores, in order to allow your PPV customers to sign in with their chosen username and password, and watch their purchased PPV items (VOD Channel accesses), on any of your apps as well (such as on TVs and mobile devices).
Please note that the PPV Monetization in your Media Cloud is not a “Video Rental Store”. It is a ticket system which gives viewers, who purchased the ticket, access to your on-demand content through VOD or AOD Channels, or access to your LIVE Channels for e.g. scheduled live events, during a specific time frame (= the ticket validity time you set in your Media Cloud's PPV Manager).
