Can subtitles be positioned in different areas on the screen?
The subtitle overlay happens player side. The native player of each platform treats closed caption slightly differently but none of them has an offset capability. It is not like a closed caption software that is built specifically for the purpose of creating video master files allowing editors to manually place subtitles in different positions to accommodate graphics. The players (OTT, web, mobile, etc.) position the titles always in the same place at their discretion. Lightcast simply feeds the subtitles information from the SRT files along with each video.
The only way to control the positioning of subtitles is to place them in the editing process and render different language master files including subtitles. You can upload multiple video files for different language versions (subtitle or audio) and create a multi-language navigation structure inside your apps (web, mobile, OTT).
