Can we change the price of a PPV live event?
Yes, the price can be changed any time up to 48 hours prior to a PPV live event.
Price change DURING an ongoing PPV live event (“hot swap”): A price change during an ongoing PPV live event is not advisable for various, customer-related reasons. It is technically possible if the price change is scheduled to happen during our business hours and we know about the desired price change and the date you want to have the price changed during an ongoing live event at least 7 days in advance.
Since it is a PPV product, the minimum the system has to charge in order to verify credit card details entered by PPV customers is $1. It could be any amount higher than $1. The payout minimum is $2 if you want a payout of these discounted signups as well.
Please keep in mind that a price drop during a PPV live event could lead to an increasing number of charge-backs or disgruntled full-paying PPV customers who feel cheated because of the price reduction. Short notice price-changes also run some technical risks, and banking-related risks beyond anyone’s control, such as credit card companies detecting the sudden change for the same event and penalize, or block, credit card transactions with the attempt to “protect" consumers. Sometimes credit card processors can be unpredictable if they suspect (or even just misjudge) some kind of disadvantageous business practice against consumers. Not likely to happen, just a remnant risk to keep in mind.
During a hot-swap price change during a PPV live event, only the price would change, but not all of the references to the PPV price on the landing page and its FAQs (which would still reflect the original PPV price).
