Can we publish our media to Chromecast?
Chromecast/Google Cast is not a publishing platform, but a little HDMI stick promoted by Google, which plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. It is frequently being mistaken for a ConnectedTV platform, but it is only a projection device which allows users to project to their TV-screens what they currently see on their mobile devices (your favorite TV shows, movies, music, sports, games and more). It is not a platform publishers can publish to as it has no app store/channel store. Google’s OTT/ConnectedTV platform is “AndroidTV”.
Chromecast/Google Cast works with iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet, Mac and Windows laptop, and Chromebook.
If you would like to enable Chromecast/Google Cast support for any of your VOD, LIVE and/or AUDIO Channels, please contact our Customer Care department at customercare@lightcast.com .
