Do you offer reports based on IP addresses instead of unique devices?
IP addresses are not the most reliable data, which is why we do not report on it any longer. The trend is to report on devices, as that is an actual representation of unique viewers. The numbers of IP addresses are always highly distorted due to routers, network switches and other static IP address network hardware in offices and other corporate environments, as well as select proxy servers of ISPs and home routers of consumers which distort IP address numbers (showing either too many, or too few, IP addresses).
In addition, IP addresses have become an increasingly sensitive privacy information which can no longer be disclosed in an increasing number of jurisdictions.
Therefore, our CDN detects the actual devices which connect to the CDN POPs. If you are looking for unique viewer numbers, then that is the most accurate number available in the market today.
