How does the VOD-to-LIVE continuous loop work?
This feature allows you to create a 24/7 continuous loop stream out of the playlist from one (or multiple) of your VOD-Channels and embed/publish the live-player anywhere you like. The stream starts from the top of the playlist every midnight Eastern Time (at 00:00) and you can change the videos and their order in the playlist at any time, but latest at 23:50 EST to make sure your change are part of the playlist on the following day.
The VOD-to-LIVE feature saves lots of "scheduling time" and instantly turns a VOD playlist into a linear continuous stream which viewers "cut into" whenever they load the player/app at the point the playlist is currently at - giving them the impression of watching "live television".
Please keep in mind that the playlist (the continuous loop) re-starts from the top every 24 hours. This means you can fill up the VOD Channel with content for up to 24 hours. Please contact us if you have content exceeding 24 hours for alternative solutions
If you would like to utilize this feature, please contact Customer Care at customercare(at)lightcast.com with the information, which VOD Channel you would like to use as a VOD-to-LIVE stream. A one-time setup fee may apply.
