How will new viewers find our live stream?

Your potential viewers of your live stream can be informed about your live broadcast by:

  • Sending out a newsletter to your subscribers and inform them about your upcoming live stream

  • Embedding the live streaming player on your website. The live streaming player can be adjusted in size and color and is available in your Lightcast.com account. You can find the HTML code of the player in your "control center". Open the live channel which you selected to choose for your live broadcast and click on "Embed Channel". There you can adjust your player based on your preference and copy and paste the HMTL Code to your website and/or social sites.

  • Adding a live event in the live channel which you've chosen to stream through. Adding a live event is very important since it enables the countdown on your player, it displays additional information for your live event (title and description) and you receive statistics on views and video minute consumption for a particular live broadcast. You can add a live event by opening your "control center" in your Lightcast.com account and clicking on the appropriate live channel. With the button "Add Live Event" you can easily create a live event with a start date, end date, title and description. These information will be displayed on your embedded live player together with a countdown, counting down to your next live event.

  • Publishing your live stream to CROSS.TV. This can be done by enabling the publishing to CROSS.TV for your live channel and by adding a live event. Please click on the appropriate live channel in your "control center" and switch to the "LIVE Channel Info Editor". On the very top of the page you can choose the option: "Publish this channel on cross.tv also".

  • Embedding the live streaming player on your social sites (request a Facebook Media App)

  • There are plenty of other ways how new viewers can find your Live Stream and how to promote your live channel on the web and on additional broadcast outlets such as Roku, Google TV, Yahoo Connected TV etc. Our Lightcast Media Consultants would be happy to help you in this matter.
