I have other video formats for upload to my FTP Account. How can I change them to mp4?

There is no way around exporting them from your editing suite or transcoding them via a transcoding application such as “Compressor” or “MPEGStreamclip". Please note that certain transcoding applications, such as Compressor, provide an extensive range of options and are recommended for use by experienced professionals only in order to avoid loss of time and resources with “trial & error” attempts.

Important: please don’t change file endings of video files (such as from .mov to .mp4) as the metadata of different video files and containers are entirely different. Such files may not pass our file inspection and verification, thus never entering the transcoding process. In this regard video file behave similar to all other types of files: the changing of an ending does not convert the file in any way.

Files in the popular mobile file type “.m4v" (iOS devices) can be converted to .mp4, but please note that Compressor doesn't encode mp4 with the h.264 codec. There are other transcoding applications on the market - such as the free “MPEGStreamclip”, or "Quicktime 7 Pro” - which can be used to convert files into mp4.
