Is it possible to reduce simultaneous login of a user?
While it would technically be possible to further reduce simultaneous login of a user, we would highly recommend to stay on a more liberal, open course, due to the following reasons:
1. Cost: such a customization would be in the low 5-figures for a number of reasons, due to the technical complexity of such limitations across all servers and software running on servers in the CDN. We use the streaming servers in the Verizon CDN for delivery, so you can imagine what costs would be involved quickly.
2. Even if it was built to the most solid standards, such a system would never be flawless and would continuously produce frustrated users which feel unfairly treated, or simply do not want to put up with figuring out on which devices they had been logged in, then go to those devices and log out and having to do this over and over again.
3. Most Streaming Apps have since gone away from these limitations due to the technical implications and user-frustration. The risk of any potential loss of revenue due to abuse is marginal by comparison to the loss of revenue from cancelations by frustrated (and good) subscribers.
