Podcast Channels

Is it possible to send audio-only files from uploaded videos to an Audio Podcast?

Yes, we can send the audio-only renditions of your uploaded video files to your Audio Podcast's RSS Feed, provided the video file is assigned to the VOD Channel which is setup as source for your Audio Podcast.

The workflow for publishing of audio-only renditions of video files to Podcast platforms is fully automated:

1. Uploaded videos, or recordings from video live-events, are sent through transcoding and file optimization for multi-platform distribution - including an audio-only rendition.

2. During or following the upload, the VOD file is assigned to respective VOD Channels.

3. The audio-only rendition created during the Transcoding Process is a sidecar file to the VOD Asset.

4. If RSS Feed(s) are set up for your VOD Channel(s), the RSS Feed(s) feed the audio-only versions to your Audio Podcast automatically.

Audio-only renditions from uploaded (or recorded) video files remain tied to the VOD Asset as sidecar files (in the same way as subtitle/closed-caption files are sidecar files - linked to a VOD Asset). Audio-only renditions are not put into your AOD Channel(s).  They remain sidecar files tied to the VOD Asset.

AOD Channels are used for uploads of AOD files (in the same way as VOD Channels are used). You can use your AOD Channels to create Audio-Channels for uploaded audio files. Those AOD Channels can also be fed to Podcast Platforms via issued RSS Feeds, or integrated into TV Apps, Mobile Apps, or Web Players.
