What could be the reason for it? In general a view is not the same as viewers. 1 viewer can technically create a few views. There could be several reasons why your video or live stream receives more views than expected: 1. One or several of your videos or live-streams have been shared by viewers on social platforms. 2. One or several of your video- or live-stream-players have been re-embedded on other websites or social sites through the retrievable embed code on your embedded players. One or several of your videos or live-streams have received an increasing viewership on [CROSS.TV](http://cross.tv/), YouTube or other video platform. One or several of your videos or live-streams have received an increasing viewership on your OTT/SmartTV outlets such as your Roku Channels, GoogleTV App or iTunes Podcasts. Certain mobile devices account for an increased number of views. [Lightcast.com](http://www.lightcast.com/) receives feedback from native device players, yet these numbers can be distorted by the mobile device, due to high overheads on the media protocol of certain mobile platforms such as iOS. Expect a higher view-count from iOS devices. 6. Certain viewers reconnected to your on-demand media or live-streams several times by refreshing the browser, switching between bitrates manually, the buffering of the video/live stream, or opening multiple videos several times. Browser- and OS-crashes, as well as unstable internet connections on the viewers' end can also result in reconnections, thus higher view-counts. 7. If you restricted access to a specific video which still received more views than expected: - Viewers may have had access to the media content in question and already shared it on their social pages or re-embedded it on other websites (there is no way to undo that or "call back" a shared or re-embedded video). - Staff members may have access to your Lightcast Account or to the embedded players and are generating more views than expected by testing with different devices (please see #5).
