The viewing stats in my Channel Managers and in my Media Stats Center vary from my website's local stats tracker. How come?
A variety of website statistic tools use different methods for stats tracking. Since they don't receive any feedback on video viewing from each user's device (which only the media-delivering CDN receive), they can only go by the stats browsers provide (the number loading of a website in a browser). This method is usually less accurate, as various browsers handle visits differently, depending on cookies and other factors. Some modern browsers might also use different add-ons that block analytics/tracking scripts. As a result locally installed website stats trackers do not receive all information of all visitors. In general, website stats can have a certain blur and cannot be directly compared to media streaming data. The most accurate number for viewership on live-streams or on-demand media is the data the media-delivering CDN receives from the viewer's devices.
