Viewers complain about low audio levels. What can I do?
What you can do on your end:
- Try to increase the volume in your Live Streaming Encoder and check on it while watching your own stream with a separate computer or device.
- Use a compressor or maximizer/limiter device to maximize your audio volume while limiting the risk of distortion through overdrive (peaking).
- Work with the output volume of your audio mixer console.
- Check the volume settings of the audio line input in your operating system and turn it up if necessary.
If you have done all this and viewers still complain about low audio levels, than chances are that the viewer would need to:
- Increase the audio-level on the Live Streaming Player, by moving the mouse over the Live Streaming Player which will make the control bar visible at the bottom of the player, including the volume control. Please make sure that your player isn't accidently muted and the loud speaker symbol does not display an "X". Please click on the loud speaker symbol to activate or deactivate the muting function.
- Increase the audio-level of their computer. Depending on the device and operating system they are using, there are different areas in their operating system, as well as on the hardware device or attached loudspeakers which allow them to adjust the audio level. Please refer to the tutorials of the operating system, PC, laptop or mobile device, or to the manual of their attached loudspeakers.
