How is it different from editing videos with a software installed on a computer locally? Cutting (or “trimming”) means to edit a video. However, editing can also be other things such as adding effects or graphics. These are typical post-production functions, part of locally installed (not cloud-based) software, which require a local computer, and its CPU without loading back and forth over public internet, in order to render the wanted effects or graphics edits on a video (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, etc…).  The cloud-editing of videos (such as of recorded live-events) in the Media Cloud is limited to cutting the beginning and end of the recording (or trimming). This is due to the nature (and limits) of cloud-based functions on a server, controlled by a user over public internet.  If you are looking to trim the beginning and end of recorded live-events in order to create clean VOD assets, then the cloud-edit tool of the Media Cloud is perfect.
