Which video export settings are recommended for Final Cut Pro?

We recommend the H.264 codec for video and the AAC codec for audio, encoded into MP4 (ideally under 1 GB per file and a maximum of 3 GB per file). Here are the recommended export settings when using Final Cut Pro:

Compression Type

  • H.264


Motion

  • Frame Rate -> Current
  • Key Frames -> Automatic
  • Frame Reordering -> Check


Data Rate

  • Restrict to 5000 kbites/sec


Compressor

  • Quality -> High
  • Encoding -> Faster encode (Single-pass)


Filter

  • None


Size

  • Dimensions -> 1280 x 720 HD


Settings (Audio)

  • Format -> AAC
  • Channels -> Stereo
  • Rate -> 44.100
  •     Quality -> High
  •     Encoding Strategy -> Average Bit Rate
  •     Target Bit Rate -> 192 kbps
