Why are there views for live-streams from New Jersey and/or Virginia?
Our Core Datacenter and US Transcoding Farm is located in Ashburn, VA, and was previously located in Matawan, NJ. We monitor and transcode all live-streams in Ashburn, which results in two continuous viewers whenever your live-stream is running. This covers the input and output bandwidth for the live-transcoding process and the live-stream-monitoring. This is how we account for this type of bandwidth and the live-transcoding service. Aside from there, there are no other charges for multi-platform transcoding of live-streams. For this reason you will see stats displayed for Ashburn, VA and previously from Matawan, NJ when using the filter “city” in the Analytics Center. There may also be other users watching from home and various devices in VA and NJ, and the viewing & usage stats may combine both the transcoding process and viewers.
