Why does Lightcast offer Add-On services at a fee?
99% of all Media Cloud services are self-directed and self-managed by customers through the Media Cloud interface. Clients can upload, add/remove contents, metadata, gallery images, sidecar files and turn on/off and select from vast amounts of publishing settings and preferences for videos, audio files and live-streams across all of their publishing properties, including websites, mobile apps, TV apps and social networking sites.
However, a few select services have to be programmed into your Media Cloud account by our NOC team via the backend. These small selection of specialized services are considered an optional "Add-On" to your account and consist of two costs: a setup fee and the ongoing cost for the service.
The ongoing cost for the service may be covered by your Lightcast Service Package (depending on the package level - please refer to the Packages Overview or your Service Agreement’s SOW). However, there may still be a one-time setup fee, or change-fee, for the initial setup, or change, or select services. Such setup fees are transparently published in your Media Cloud Account under “Add-On Rates”. Please consult Customer Care for more details.
